What affects the price
- Size and species. A 15-foot ornamental tree is a different job than a 70-foot mature oak. Taller, wider, and denser trees take longer to safely bring down.
- Access. A tree in an open front yard is far cheaper to remove than one wedged in a tight backyard behind a fence, or one that requires crane access.
- Proximity to structures. Trees overhanging a house, garage, or power line require slower, more controlled rope-and-rigging work — which takes more time and more crew.
- Condition. A dead or storm-damaged tree can actually be more dangerous to remove than a healthy one, since weakened wood behaves unpredictably.
- Stump removal. Grinding the stump is usually priced separately from the removal itself.
